This truck is incredibly “stock†from the factory AM radio to the air filter, floor mats, wheels. It even has the factory spare in the factory holder. It has a 6 cyl. engine with a 3 speed column shift. I have only found minor superficial surface rust on this truck. The “bright “ trim on this truck is also in very good condition including all original “emblems†( there are no letters missing in “Chevrolet†on the hood nor no cracks in the Chevy grill emblem. The only non- stock items I have found are ; the radio antenna, and the bed floor has been replaced with non skid x plate steel. It starts easily and does not appear to burn or leak any oil or fluids. The owner’s manual is still in the glove box.
This truck can be an incredibly easy and cheap restoration project, or a perfect start for a frame up restoration. What it need – basics: 1) A good paint job. 2) Tires. 3) synchronizers replaced in 2nd gear. 4) Carb ( new or rebuilt.). 5) tune up (most parts already there). If you live fairly close, and want to wait until the rush hour(s) are over, you can drive it home.
I will NOT sell this truck to anyone that I even suspect : A)wants to use it as a “work†truck B) wants an immediate â€daily driverâ€. C) intends to build a “hot rod†out of it. I speak only English and will not attempt to communicate in Spanish or other languages. I will ignore one line replies, scams, spam, et al and I should be considered a serious health threat to thieves. In other words, I will only communicate with serious restoration enthusiasts and will not waste time or electrons on others. So… PLEASE PUT “Serious Restorer†in response title. That said, I will be happy to provide detail photos and information to serious restorers, and whatever help I can to persons that are not local. ( I’ve done the 500 mile drive, just to find a useless rust bucket – several times). I purchased this truck with the intent to do a minor restoration, but health and space/storage problems preclude this sale. Thanks.
