Description

This is a very fine 1959 Apache Fleetside, with a frame off restoration complete in 2005; garaged and covered since then. A joy to drive and rides beautifully. This year is the first year I have shown the truck and I received a 1st place trophy at the first show and many others followed. It shows well and always gets a lot of admirers. It has a very straight (mirror straight lines), rust free body with restoration photos documenting the process from bare metal to victory red paint (body restoration professionally done with all receipts, $20,000 spent on body alone). All the chrome is in great condition. The wood bed of the truck was completely restored with new red oak and stainless runners. The tailgate brackets and chains were shaved for a cleaner look. Under the hood is a 300 HP GM 350 Crate Motor (11k miles), new holly street avenger carb, HEI ignition, Optima battery and Painless Wiring harness. It is kept running cool by a new aluminum Griffin radiator (600 hp rated), 2400 cfm electric pull fan and stainless overflow tank. It has a GM serpentine belt system, Old Air A/C system with a GM compressor, power steering, power brakes (front disc / rear drum) and all new brake and fuel lines. The engine is connected to a TH350 transmission. The power is transferred to rear wheels by a 74 Nova 10 bolt rear end. The chassis features an 87 half ton front suspension with heavy duty sway bar. Under the bed in rear you will find an 18 gallon aluminum fuel cell. The truck rides on custom rally wheels from Stockton Wheel with classic moon center caps w/ embossed chevy bowtie. The interior metal is red to match the exterior. It has a GM tilt steering column with a 90’s chevy truck steering wheel. The dash board features a modern analog VDO instrument cluster with a brushed billet aluminum face plate and a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo system that sounds great. The truck has a beautiful “rake” which much time was spent to achieve maintaining a truck ride height. I have invested around $38K in this truck. You can park it in your garage for $25,000.00
