Style: Restored Original Overview: 1948 Ford F-1 Pick-up I am the 2nd owner of this remarkably original truck and have just completed a one-year restoration where every effort has been made to maintain originality and factory correctness. The original flathead 6 cyl. (90hp) runs strong with high compression. The 3 speed manual transmission has been re-built (have receipt) as have the brakes and master cylinder. A new clutch with new pressure plates and u-joints has also been added. Steering is tight and effortless. The steel exhaust system is new and the glass pack sounds great. Multiple coats of original color (chrome yellow) premium urethane enamel paint has depth and clarity. The interior is flawless. The original seat frame has been professionally refurbished and recovered in original factory color, There are all new door seals. The dash and instrument cluster are original and in perfect condition. The grille is amazingly well preserved due to rare factory option grille guard, which comes with the truck. Also with the truck are the original factory tools including the folding jack handle and the original repair manual in a Ford leather binder. All trim-bright work is the original and in very good to excellent condition. The bed has been professionally lined to show off the original floor and sculpted inner sides. The original wood sub-floor is intact and in good shape. The truck is 100% solid steel and is arrow straight and has no rust issues and never has had any rust issues or damage of any kind. The original Ford script wheels are in perfect condition and the hubcaps are the original4. I have left them as is with dents rather than replacing them. The rear bumper is custom and not original to the truck as no rear bumper came with the truck. This is a great original truck that needs nothing. The truck is a true classic survivor and a real find.
